Influenza Flu A+B Test
Our Flu tests require a respiratory sample, such as a nasal swab, to check for the presence of the flu virus.
The flu (influenza) is a respiratory infection caused by a virus (germ). It occurs most often during the winter and easily spreads from person to person from coughing, sneezing, and/or touching contaminated surfaces. Most seasonal flu outbreaks are caused by the A and/or B flu viruses.

A rapid (i.e. antigen) flu test can be used to identify if you currently have or are infected with one or both of the most common types of influenza virus (influenza A and/or influenza B).
Your provider can potentially provide specialized treatment if the influenza virus is identified within a specific period and is appropriate. Please ask your doctor or healthcare provider for more information.
